Should the US vote to approve the Proposal to extend the deadline for conversion of IEC 61400-22 certificates to IECRE certificates, without negative effects on the 2019 budget?
During the meeting in Sanya the WE-OMC discussed and approved an amendment to WE-OMC/316/DV (under agenda point 12.5 of the agenda, see WE-OMC/362/RM) to allow those IEC 61400-22 certificates issued prior to the end of year, 2018, to be permitted to be converted to IECRE certificates. Originally, the approved process permitted only those -22 certs issued prior to 2018-04-01 as eligible.
Immediately following the Sanya WE-OMC meeting there was a request, from the market to the Danish Member Body, seeking a further amendment to extend the deadline for which IEC 61400-22 certificates could be converted to IECRE certificates by three months. Originally, the approved conversion process was required to be completed by the end of 2018.
The DK proposal is made on administrative grounds and is suggested that it will not affect the 2019 budget, as per the proposal in the following pages.
Recommendation from the WE-OMC chair:
In the Sanya meeting there was a clear indication from SG553 that it is important to get additional certificates into the IECRE system. Immediately after the Sanya meeting there was an indication from the market that we could avoid an administrative issue by extending the deadline for the conversion of certificates by three months. As the proposal includes the agreement that these certificates still will be counted for the year 2018, the aim to avoid negative consequences for the 2019 budget.
Hence I recommend that the WE-OMC member bodies approve this proposal.\
WE-OMC to approve WE-OMC/352/DV, effective immediately. Ballots are to be returned to the IECRE Secretariat (email@example.com) no later than 2019-01-06.
NOTE: USNC/IECRE ballots to be submitted within two weeks to allow for resolution of any comments prior to the IEC deadline.
