BACKGROUND:
WG 501 drafted OD 501, which was submitted as WE-OMC/243/DC to the WE-OMC Member Bodies for comments by 2017-11-09. Comments received were sent to WG 501 who plan to work through the comments at the next WG 501 meeting in Beijing at the end of January 2018 and will be considered for the next edition of OD-501.
In the meantime, as requested by the WE-OMC Chair, the WG 501 Convener and the SG 550 Convener, Draft OD 501 is being submitted for approval to the membership, with the title changed from “Type Certification” to “Type and Component Certification”.

ACTION:
The WE-OMC Member Bodies to approve draft OD-501 ed.1.0, effective immediately. Ballots are to be returned to the IECRE Secretariat ([email protected]) no later than 2017-12-30.

NOTE: USNC/IECRE ballots to be submitted within two weeks to allow for resolution of any comments prior to the IEC deadline.
